Hand carved Antique Phoinex statue Collectibles

The Carving itself is almost 9 in without the stand with the stand the entire thing stands 10 and 1/2 in tall, this is an asian carving from 1900-1910, the detail on this carving is absolutely amazing it was a master Carver who worked this with all the open pierced work on this statue which is difficultwork due to crack age and breaking during the carving process.. there are no cracks chips or missing pieces anywhere on this statue, I can tell it was painted at one time possibly by the previous owner who then stripped most of the paint off it because there is a process you can do to this material called polychrome and is more a dying of the material and you can’t remove it so easily. it still looks very very nice details are amazing it is immaculate if you are a painter you could repaint it if you like to paint or leave as is it still looks beautiful either way I think. Awesome addition to any collection.
